Project 500 is a ground-breaking campaign to raise £500,000 for Mind Over Mountains by June 2025, so that we can help more people across the UK & reach those most in need of mental health support.
Mind Over Mountains is a charity providing mental health support with guided walking alongside professional counsellors and coaches. We offer the opportunity to walk and talk in nature with no pressure and no judgement. We believe everyone should have access to the support they need.
By bringing our community of individuals, organisations, schools & groups together, we will create a movement to drive national change, where nature & physical activity become part of everyone's mental wellbeing toolkit.
Why June 2025?
Our founder Alex will turn 30 on the 18th of June 2025. However, sadly too many people will never reach such a milestone, given that suicide is now the biggest killer of under 35’s in the UK.
We all know the worrying stats on mental health. Alex wants to mark this milestone more positively - by building a legacy of better mental health support for all.
Our founder Alex can’t achieve this target through epic endurance feats alone. In the same way, we all need the support of others to maintain our mental health & fitness.
Whether you are an individual, company, school or community group – we’re looking for 500 members to join the Project 500 club - to create your own challenge, where everything from 5km to hundreds of km is celebrated, & everything in between!
This is your chance to find your 500 & get creative, boost your own wellbeing & become changemakers for mental health. Are you in?

Register your challenge to receive your fundraising pack, help with setting up JustGiving page and everything you need to get started…
For individuals
- Take on a personal challenge, however big or small, & join an inspirational community of changemakers across the UK.
- Perhaps commit to a physical challenge, organise an event, run an online fundraiser - use '500' to give you ideas, or browse ours!
- Raise £500 or more and you will receive an exclusive t-shirt.
For organisations
- Pledge to support your team's wellbeing whilst helping us raise funds to improve mental health in the UK.
- Engage your team with a challenge - from cake sales to climbing mountains!
- Become a Project 500 Partner or join as a core sponsor for the campaign.
For schools & community groups
- Educate your students on mental wellbeing & resilience with a virtual talk from our founder Alex.
- Organise your own fundraising event and find your ‘500’ – a sponsored walk, cake sale, fun run, or get creative!
- Find your '500' - create your theme or target!
